Experience & Portfolio

Executive Summary

I am a self-described IT polyglot.  Through a lifetime of experience (from my early fascination with the Apple iie onward), I have worked toward improving people’s lives with technology, both mine and others.  I have spent a great deal of time in different roles, as outlined by my experience below.  This has resulted in a broad range of skills at various levels of development.  The full details are too many to mention here, but the highlights are below.  For any further clarification, please feel free to reach out with the contact form, an email, or a phone call.

Portfolio / Projects

Most of the projects listed below are internal and proprietary to my employer or their client, but these are a few of the cohesive projects I have completed throughout my career:

  • Log Correlation and Analysis (2016)
    • Designed and implemented a multi-tiered scalable Elastic cluster with a Kibana front-end interface to allow for captured log files from networking devices, Windows servers, Linux servers, and Microsoft SQL Server instances to allow for diagnostics and security auditing of these subsystems. The cluster was implemented using Ansible as an orchestration and provisioning platform for configuration…
  • Platform for Testing New Phone System (2013)
    • Utilized Asterisk and FreePBX to interconnect a Mitel 5000 PBX with Google Voice to allow for testing of the configuration and dial plan prior to final cutover.  The solution is still in place as an emergency backup to the primary business lines.
  • Email Server Replacement (2012)
    • Implemented a complete migration of all company email to a Zimbra Collaboration Suite solution hosted on a Linux system. Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird used as client software. Enabled the company to offer web access to sales reps for the first time. Improved responsiveness of email and service levels.
